Submit your application at a centre for visas for France in Taiwan
All visa applications for France in Taiwan are only processed by the French Office in Taipei.
We remind you that after filling the form on the France-visas website, you must print it, sign it and give it when submitting your visa application, along with all the required supporting documents.
What are the visa fees ?
Fees (pdf) are collected by the French administration for processing your application.
The payment is made by cash or by Easy Card in New Taiwanese Dollars (please load your card accordingly). Tariffs are shown in euros (€), to convert the price into local currency (TWD), please check the current exchange rate.
The amount collected will be kept by the administration even if the visa is refused.

Waiting time for an appointment :
- The average waiting time for an appointment for short and long-stay visas is 48 hours
- This waiting time may be extended up to 20 working days prior to and during summer time.
Likewise, an increase of applications is to be expected prior to winter school holidays. As getting an appointment may exceed the normal waiting time, applicants are encouraged to submit their visa application with sufficient anticipation to avoid having to postpone their departure.
This appointment procedure does not apply to students as their appointments are arranged directly by Campus France.
When visiting the French Office in Taipei, you must not possess any weapon or dangerous product. Security checks are carried out prior to admission into the premises.
The use of mobile phones, cameras or other audio or video recording devices is strictly prohibited. You will be asked to drop off your mobile phone in lockers provided for this purpose before entering the waiting room.

Preparation
You must submit all the required documents on the day of your appointment. No document sent to the visa section by any other means will be accepted.
In order to prepare your visa application, please consult the list of documents required according to the purpose of your stay on the France-Visas website. Please note that only visa service officers are authorized to request additional supporting documents and that no third party individual or organization is allowed in matters regarding visas.
Submitting your visa application: visa applications must be submitted by the applicant itself at the visa section. The French Office in Taipei will not process any visa application received through mail or any other means.
Do not forget to bring with you :
- Confirmation of your appointment (printed) ;
- Your passport ;
- Your photo which meets the ICAO standards and issued less than 6 months ago ;
- The printed France-visas filled form ;
- All the requested documents listed on the France-visas website.
Registration of biometric data
All visas delivered by France are biometric.
Visa applicants above the age of 12 years old must come to the visa section when submitting their first visa application. The following biometric identifiers will be collected: a photo (which must be less than 6 months old), will be scanned on the day of your appointment, and your fingerprints will be collected.
However, it is possible to recover your biometric data if a former Schengen visa has been issued within the preceding 59 months.
Children under the age of 12 are exempted from fingerprints collection. The visa application must be submitted by one of the child’s parents or by the person who holds parental authority. The child’s ICAO-compliant photograph (pdf) will then be scanned. The child must be present when submitting the visa application.

If you are unable to come to collect your passport, a third party with a power of attorney, your payment receipt, a copy of your ID and of his own ID may collect it for you.
Taiwanese passport holders
Holders of a Taiwanese passport with their identity number written on it, who wish to travel to Europe to one or several Schengen member states are exempted from having a visa for touristic, family or business stays of less than 90 days.
France has extended this exemption for Taiwanese nationals traveling to France’s non-European territories : French overseas departments, and French overseas collectivities and territories.
Taiwanese nationals who hold of a Taiwanese passport which does not include their identity number must apply for a short stay visa.
People in possession of a passport which does not include their identity number must contact the French Office.
Official passports
Visas issued to holders of official passports in the course of their duties are free of charge.
Studying in France
Students wishing to study in France for a period exceeding 3 months are obliged to enroll on the website of Campus France beforehand and also complete the educational evaluation procedure (Studies in France) and only then may they submit their student visa application.
The mission of Campus France is to guide and advise Taiwanese students wishing to continue their studies in France. Campus France provides extensive information on all courses provided by French Higher education system as well as specific information regarding the different French establishments permitting students to build- with success, their journey of academic mobility.
Campus France allows you to construct a step-by-step project of your studies in France. Its website allows you to create an online personalized account as well as a place to discuss with Campus France representatives.
The visa section is in charge of processing visa applications according to the rules and regulations in force. It is not authorized to give any information regarding dossiers being processed by telephone.
Campus France procedure for studying in France is as follows:
- Inscription
- Create an account
- Online completion of your application
- Payment of services charges via bank transfer
Interview and submitting Campus France application
- Once the service charges have been validated, you may proceed by making an appointment online on the Campus France website. You simply need to choose the date and time which suits you amongst the time slots proposed on your personal online account.
- During off-peak season, there are 3 working days waiting time. During high peak season, there might be up to 10 working days waiting time.
On the day of your appointment, you should come to the Campus France Office bringing with you all of the documents required (pdf).
The educational interview consists of an oral presentation of your personal studies plan and answering questions from the counselors regarding your application file. The interview may be proceeded in French, English or Chinese depending on the course you have chosen.
Submitting your student visa application :
- You may submit your visa application dossier the same day as your interview with Campus France - no appointment with the visa section is necessary in this case provided that your visa application dossier is complete. You must submit your dossier personally at one of the visa section counters where you biometric data will be registered.
- Bring photocopies of all substantiating documents as there is no possibility of making photocopies on the premises.
- Once your have paid the application fee (in cash or by Easy Card), you will receive a receipt and your visa application will be processed by the visa section.
Processing time:
Approximately three weeks. During the summer peak, the processing time is up to one month.
