Apply for a visa for France in Peru
Only persons residing in Peru wishing to travel to France can apply in Peru.
Applications cannot be submitted more than 6 months before the departure date for short stay visa applications and more than 3 months before the departure date for long stay visa applications.
To apply for a visa, the applicant must obtain an individual appointment with consular section of the French Embassy in Lima. Please do not take any appointment for enquiries, as there is a free hour dedicated to this topic from Monday to Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Appointment and processing times vary depending on the number of applicants and the season. Users are therefore advised to anticipate in order to obtain their appointment at least 1 month before their departure, and make sure that they have all the required documents according to the type of visa they are applying for.

Personal presentation
All visa applicants over 12 years of age must appear in person. Children under 12 years of age are not admitted to the premises. In the case of a group or a family, it is necessary to book an appointment for each applicant.
Prepare your visit
You must gather the following items before your visit to the visa service:
- Your valid passport. Expiration date must be at least 3 months after the expiration date of the requested visa;
- The visa application form (downloadable from our website), printed, dated and signed;
- A recent identity photograph, in accordance with the ISO/IEC standard;
- The list of supporting documents corresponding to the type of visa requested;
- The supporting documents of the list, presented in the same order.
The documents mentioned above must be delivered in double files: the first file must content the originals (which will be returned), the second, containing A4 format copies (which will be kept by the consulate).
The visa is paid on the day of the interview, only in soles and cash.
Only visa service agents are allowed to ask you for additional supporting documents; no third party is authorized in visa matters.
What are the application fees?
Application fees (pdf) are collected by the French administration for processing your request.
Payment is made at the time of visa application, only in Peruvian Soles (PEN) and in cash, at the daily exchange rate.
The amount collected is kept by the administration, even in the event of visa refusal.

Practical information
Official passports
Official passports (diplomatic and service) must only be used for official missions. For private or tourist trips, please use your ordinary passport.
Visa applications presented with an official passport must be accompanied by an official letter issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Embassy of the nationality of the applicant, specifying the identity of the applicant(s), the purpose of the mission and the name(s) of the person(s) replaced.
