Practical informations about your appointment in the visa application centers

You need to be present in person to submit your application in the TLSContact applications centers.

When getting prepared for you appointment, please do not forget to bring:

  • Your passport: the passport number must be the same as mentioned on your appointment letter.
  • Means of payment of the visa fees: cash or debit card.
  • Your application which must contain all required documents put in the right order as per the list of supporting documents, 1 set of original documents, 1 set of copies in A4 size.

Please note: in case of missing documents, you can decide either not to submit your application and take another appointment (in this case, TLSContact service fees will have to be paid again), or to submit and sign a document listing the missing documents.

Application with all of supporting documents does not automatically mean that your visa will be granted.

TLSContact offers against payment optional services : photos, photocopies, assistance to fill the online form, courier service for your passport return.

Biometric data collection :

France only issues biometric visas.

Applicants aged 12 on the day of appointment have to be present to apply in order to allow biometric data to be collected: picture (photo or scan) and fingerprints (10 fingers).

There is a possibility to access applicants' biometric data when a Schengen visa has been previously issued less than 59 months before.

Children aged under 12 are exempt from biometric data collection. Their application has to be submitted by one of the parents or by a person entrusted with legal authority on them. Their ISO/IEC format photograph (pdf) will be scanned.

Following biometrics data collection, visa application procedure is over.

Official and diplomatic passport (Official mission only with Note Verbale):

Visa applicants on official or diplomatic passports are not affected by the mandatory appointment booking with prepayment of the service fee on the TLScontact website. They are invited to drop by TLScontact's visa centers in Abuja and Lagos. To be admissible, their visa application must include a Note Verbale.

For Lagos, you need an appointment made online.

They are subject to the short-stay visa requirement but bearers of diplomatic passports are exempt from airport transit visa only in case of transit through France.

Visas issued to official passport holders are free. They pay no visa fees or service fees.

Airport Transit Visa :

You are required to hold an “A” Airport Transit Visa (VTA) if you hold a regular Nigerian passport or service, if you hold a long-stay visa or residence permit issued by the country of final destination, that you stay in the international area of the airport in France (or in the Netherlands for applications submitted in Lagos), waiting for the connection to your final destination, and that your final destination is outside the Schengen area.

Third countries represented by France in Nigeria:

The French Embassy in Lagos doesn’t represent any third countries.

The Consulate General of France in Lagos represents two Schengen States for the issuance of short-stay visas exclusively: Lithuania and the Netherlands (States represented in Abuja by Belgium).

Visa applications for Lithuania or the Netherlands as a single or main destination must be submitted in Lagos at the TLSContact visa center, after making an appointment on the site and paying the online service fee.

Application procedure for a study visa:

To prepare their application, study visa applicants must first consult the Campus France website.

In case of problems with your visa application project, TLSContact is at your disposal to assist you. On the website you will find an email contact page and contact information for the call center (local number not charged).
