Apply for a visa in Uganda to visit France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Czech Republic.
Visa applications submitted in Uganda are examined by the consular section of the French Embassy in Kampala.
For Ugandan citizen, Schengen Visas are usually issued within 5 working days. A processing time of 10 working days or more may be necessary for the issuance of a visa for certain nationalities.
It is strongly advised to submit the application as soon as possible, at least 1 month before the intended date of travel.
It is possible to submit the visa application 6 months before the departure date.
Important information :
From September 1st, 2024, short-stay visa applications for Sweden will no longer be handled by the French Embassy in Uganda.

What are the visa fees ?
The visa application fees (pdf) are collected in Ugandan shillings (UGX) by the French administration for the processing of your application. Credit cards and checks are not accepted.
Please note that the submission of a visa application and the payment of the application fees do not imply the automatic issuance of the visa.

When you visit a French Consulate, you must not bring any weapons or dangerous items with you. Security checks will be performed before you are admitted to the premises.
Information about the appointment
Personal appearance: Visa applicants must submit their visa application in person to the French Embassy.
Remember to bring the following: :
- Your passport;
- The appointment confirmation letter (printed out);
- One photograph (ISO/IEC format);
- The visa application form filled and signed;
- The file containing all the required documents presented in the same order as on the list of required documents;
- Payment to cover the cost of the visa and the visa processing fees (cash and Ugandan shillings only / checks and credit cards are not accepted).
Biometrics:
All visas issued by France are biometric visas.
Visa applicants over the age of 12 are required to appear in person when submitting their first application. The following biometric identifiers are collected on this occasion: the photograph in the ISO/IEC will be scanned and 10 fingerprints will be taken flat and digitized.
Children under 12 years of age are not required to provide the biometric data; only the photograph will be scanned. The application must be submitted by the child’s parent/legal guardian.

Official passports
Visas issued to holders of official passports (i.e. related to their functions) are free of charge.
Visit Spain, Portugal, Greece, Czech Republic and Monaco
The Embassy of France in Uganda is handling the short stay visas for Spain, la Greece, le Portugal, la Czech Republic and Monaco. Applicants for whom one of these countries is the sole or main destination are invited to make an appointment online according to the procedure presented in the « Whom should I contact ? » section.
