Apply for a visa in Singapore to visit France
Visa applications submitted by residents of Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Papua New Guinea and Fiji have to be lodged in Singapore at VFS Global, by appointment only.
- For short stay visa applications, you must lodge your application 15 days minimum before the scheduled date of departure.
- For long stay visa applications, it takes 1 month minimum between the submission of the application and the scheduled date of departure.
The French Embassy in Singapore also issues short stay visas on behalf of Austria.
Once visa applications have been transferred to the consular authority, the processing time takes between 2 to 15 working days. The processing time is given as general guidelines and will vary according to different factors.
What are the visa fees ?
Fees are seen in dollars of Singapour (SGD) by the French administration for the processing of your application. Albeit the payment is made in Singapore dollars, the rates are indicated in euros (€). To get the price in local currency (SGD), please convert the amount indicated in the table by applying the current rate of Chancery.
The application fees are as follow:
- Visa fees perceived by the French administration for the processing of your application. The amount is kept by the administration, even in the case of refusal of visa. You will be given a receipt ;
- Service fees perceived by VFS Global when you lodge your application. Basic application fees amount to 34 euros per application and are non-refundable.
- Optional service fees (photocopies, etc), listed on VFS Global's website.
VFS service fees (except optionnal service fees) must be paid online.
All the fees can be paid either by NETS or in cash at the Visa Application Center. You must ensure that you have enough cash with you before coming to the Centre..

Appointment waiting times :
Waiting times vary depending on the number of applicants and the season. Applicants are therefore asked to arrange their appointment at least :
- 15 days prior to departure for a short-stay visa,
- 1 month for a long-stay visa.
Applications can not be made more than 6 months before your planned departure.
Set up an appointment
Before making an appointment, you are strongly advised to make sure that you have all the required documents according to the type of visa you intend to apply for . Once you are certain you have gathered the necessary documentation, you may set up an appointment with VFS Global.
Kindly note that each applicant needs an individual appointment (including minors).
On the day of the appointment :
- Only the applicant is admitted at the interview, unless he needs to be accompanied due to advanced or young age, ill health or difficulties to speak French or English.
- Minors must come with one of their parents (father or mother) or with their legal guardian to lodge their application.
- Please provide one full set of documents for each applicant.
Technical advice: please use Internet Explorer 6 and newer in English or French with Windows. Please avoid the use of Internet Explorer 9.

Caution :
- This service is totally free of charge. Any person that would book an appointment through a third party under a false identity would have been done it at his/her own risks and might being considered as an illegal action.
- Any false or corrupted information or data (i.e : false or incomplete name, nickname, wrong passport number…) may result in a automatic cancellation of the appointment, if not the refusal of the visa.

Passeport collection: without appointment, Monday to Friday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Only visa applicants are authorised to enter the Visa Application Centre. All persons entering the Visa Application Centre will be subject to security checks.
For security reasons, the following items can not be brought into the Centre :
- Any battery-powered device or electronic device such as a camera, video camera, MP3 player, CD player, cassette player (or any other portable music player), computer or tablet;
- Any bag except a plastic bag containing the required application documents or a small hand bag;
- Any sealed package or envelope;
- Any inflammable items e.g. lighter, matches. etc.
- Any sharp objects e.g. knife, scissors. etc.
- Any weapons or explosives.

You can collect your passport yourself. Passport withdrawals are made without prior appointment from Monday to Friday between 8am and 3pm.

Visa requirements for Singaporian passport holders
Singaporean nationals do not need a visa to go to France for touristic or business trips of maximum 90 days on a period of 6 months, provided that they do not have a professional activity remunerated or not.
They can also go, under the same conditions to the French overseas Collectivities: French Polynesia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Mayotte, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, La Réunion.

Official passport
Holders of a Diplomatic, Official or Service passport can apply for a visa directly at the embassy.
Visas issued to holders of a Diplomatic, Official or Service passport in the prospect of their official duties are free of charge, provided a verbal note is presented to the visa section.
Long stay student visa
1st step: academic interview at the Campus France office.
From 15 April 2017, students who wish to study in France for more than 90 days need to follow the Campus France procedure before applying for a student visa at the visa section.

2nd step: visa application submission at the visa section.
Once you finished the interview and your application is verified by Campus France, you can then continue the process at VFS:
- Print your Acceptance letter / Confirmation of acceptance in your “Etudes en France” account. This letter of acceptance is required before applying at the French consulate.
- take an appointment with VFS. Applicants should come to the visa section with their passport and a complete set of the required documents sorted in order.
- Fee : reduced rate for a long-stay visa.
Digitisation
The France-Visas application offers students the possibility of submitting digital copies of all the supporting documents requested as soon as they submit their visa application online. This approach, which should be favored, will allow for an accelerated passage to the external service provider with access to a dedicated counter.
