Submit your application at a visa centre for France, in Mauritius

All persons legally residing in Mauritius or in Seychelles must make an appointment online at the French Embassy in Mauritius to apply for a visa (short or long stay). Visa applications submitted are examined by the consular section of the French Embassy, which is only authorised to make decisions about visas.

Who to contact ?

No visa is required for Mauritius and Seychelles nationals traveling to the Schengen area, as long as they don't stay more than 90 days every 6 months.

Whether or not you need a visa, entry into the Schengen area of third-country nationals must comply with a certain number of conditions, as provided for by the European and national regulations in force.

All the following country from the Schengen zone are represented by France in Mauritius to issue short-stay visas: Austria, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Island, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.

Applicants are kindly requested not to book an appointment online at a date incompatible with their planned departure date (appointment slots blocked unnecessarily). If no appointment is available before departure, please send an email to the visa section which will consider the possibility of receiving you earlier, depending on its constraints: visas.port-louis-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr.

Before submitting a complete file on the day of the appointment, each visa application must be registered online on the France-Visas portal, failing which the user will not be received and will have to obtain a new appointment.

Make an apppointment

Applicants have to book an appointment online (one slot per person) from the appointment platform.

Appointment waiting times

Appointments usually take 3 to 4 weeks. However, they can be considerably longer (up to 2 months) in March-April-May and July-August.

The Visa service strives to process applications within 4 days but additional checks, a growing number of requests or technical problems may extend these deadlines.

We recommend that you make an appointment sufficiently in advance of your planned departure date to avoid disappointment.

Lodging a visa application is possible from 6 months before the departure date.

Preparing to come to the Consulate

Please bring all the necessary documents and proof of identity with you on the day of your appointment:

  • Confirmation of your appointment
  • Your passport
  • The visa application form, previously entered online on the France-Visa portal, and printed out
  • All supporting documents
  • A means of payment

To compile your application file, check the list of documents to be provided according to your situation by referring to the Visa Wizard.

What are the visa fees ?

The processing visa fees ares fixed in Euros but are paid in the local currency.

To obtain the price in local currency, please convert the amount indicated in the table by applying the rate of chancellery.

This fee collected by the administration is non-reimbursable, even if your visa application is rejected.

Payments in cash, Juice and credit card.
